The Sales Engineer at Ramco Group is responsible for driving business growth through technical sales and business development within the Kenyan market. The role focuses on industrial equipment, specifically Kirloskar & SPP Pumps, Air Compressors, and Chillers. The successful candidate will manage the entire sales lifecycle, from identifying potential clients and conducting market research to delivering technical presentations, closing orders, and ensuring payment collection. This role requires a blend of strong technical expertise and professional relationship management to provide tailored solutions and post-sales support that ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and target potential clients in the Kenyan market and develop sales strategies to achieve business goals.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and assess market trends.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to prospective customers.
- Handle technical sales for Kirloskar & SPP Pumps, Kirloskar Air Compressors, and Kirloskar Chillers.
- Manage order booking, payment collection, and oversee the complete process of presales, order acquisition, and order execution.
- Demonstrate how products meet client needs and offer tailored technical solutions.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
- Provide post-sales support and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Handle client inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Technical Expertise
- Offer specialized technical support to clients regarding Kirloskar & SPP Pumps, Air Compressors, and Chillers.
- Stay updated with the latest product developments and industry trends to provide expert advice.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market analysis.
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
- Participate in sales meetings and contribute to the development of strategic sales plans.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with the sales team, engineers, and other departments to coordinate efforts and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction through cross-functional teamwork.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of sales experience specifically in Pumps, Air Compressors, and Chillers.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment and their applications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
