This is the entry and training grade into this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a designated supervisor.
Responsibilities and Duties
Participating in supervising structural, civil, and other public works projects.
Overseeing the construction of structures designed to protect public land and properties from river flooding and erosion.
Implementing works/project designs and site instructions related to the construction and maintenance of structural, civil, and other public works.
Conducting supervision and inspection of structural, civil, and other public works.
Preparing technical drawings, bills of quantities (BoQs), and tender documents for structural, civil, and other public works.
Performing site assessments and structural integrity surveys.
Locating and selecting appropriate materials for structural, civil, and other public construction works.
Collecting and collating research data pertaining to engineering works.
Compiling information regarding structural and civil public works inventory and preparing technical briefs.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
Registration by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) as a Graduate Engineer.
Proficiency in computer applications.

National Identity Card.
Academic and Professional certificates and transcripts (certified by the issuing institution).
Current Clearances from KRA, HELB, a Registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), and DCI (Police Clearance Certificate).
A Self-declaration Form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC).
