This is the entry and training grade for the Mechanical and Transport Engineering cadre. An Engineer at this level will work under the guidance of a designated supervisor to perform technical and administrative duties related to mechanical systems and transport fleet management within Narok County.
Duties and Responsibilities
Taking part in preparation of designs and drawings for manufacturing of mechanical components.
Taking part in fabrication of tools, equipment, and machine/plant/vehicle components.
Repairing and maintenance of vehicles, plants, and equipment.
Carrying out inspection and testing of vehicles, plants, machines, and equipment.
Taking part in installations, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, plants, equipment, and machinery in workshops.
Identifying vehicles, plants, and mechanical equipment for relocation, repair, replacement, overhaul, and disposal.
Carrying out tests, valuation, and inspection of vehicles, plants, and equipment.
Supervising examinations and grade/trade tests for drivers and plant operators.
Taking part in the preparation of general layout drawings and shop flow organization within workshops.
Collecting and collating data for research purposes.
Collecting and compiling data on inventory of vehicles, plants, and equipment throughout their life cycle.
Taking part in the preparation of maintenance and serviceability schedules for vehicles and plant machinery and preparing reports.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical & Production Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Registration by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) as a Graduate Engineer.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Salary Scale (CPSB 09)
Ksh. 41,420 - 57,230 per month.
