Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL) is the leading manufacturer and distributor of wines and spirits in Kenya, Eastern and Central Africa region. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and safety-focused Electrician to join our Supply Chain Engineering team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, availability, and safety of all electrical systems across our operations, including but not limited to Packaging, Utilities, Cellar, and Warehouses.
Role Overview
The Electrician will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of electrical and electro-mechanical systems. You will thrive in a fast-paced production environment and enjoy solving complex technical challenges to reduce downtime and enhance productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair: Conduct troubleshooting and repair of production line equipment. Perform planned maintenance on electrical components of key plant equipment such as boilers, compressors, chillers, generators, HV panels, and voltage stabilizers.
Safety & Compliance: Audit safety interlocks and execute follow-up corrective actions. Maintain high standards of housekeeping by adhering to 5S principles in workshops and electrical areas.
Preventive Maintenance: Carry out preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and reduce spare-part costs.
System Testing: Inspect, test, and service motors, pumps, and lighting systems.
Cross-functional Support: Support mechanical repairs and contribute to automation initiatives where required.
Documentation: Ensure proper documentation through accurate and timely completion of job cards and maintenance reports.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in an FMCG production environment will be an added advantage.
Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and work with instrumentation, controls, electropneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge: Good understanding of safety protocols and electrical maintenance procedures.
