The Electrician will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and continuous improvement of plastic recycling machines and electrical systems within the facility. The role ensures optimal machine performance, minimal downtime, safe electrical operations, and supports the implementation of new technical projects to achieve communicated production targets.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation & Maintenance
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment including wiring, lighting, panels, and control systems.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on recycling machines and plant equipment.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and electrical regulations.
Maintain accurate records of all electrical works, repairs, and inspections.
Machine Support & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, including complex issues such as electrical cards and high-voltage installations.
Ensure continuous power supply stability and identify safe electrical supply solutions.
Confirm and reconcile machine power consumption against KPLC reports.
Identify areas requiring repair and recommend improvements.
Equipment Installation & Projects
Assist in installation and commissioning of new machines and automated systems.
Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and electrical code specifications.
Implement solutions to improve machine efficiency, system performance, and reliability.
Support implementation of new technical and plant improvement projects.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
Provide guidance and training to junior electricians or apprentices where applicable.
Work closely with technical and production teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
Promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Relevant certification in electrical systems is an added advantage.
Experience & Competencies
Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation, maintenance, and safety standards.
Experience working with automated machinery and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electrical code regulations and safety compliance requirements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Physical stamina and ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
