Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) is offering an internship opportunity for an Electrical Technician. The successful intern will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and operational efficiency of power generation plants and auxiliary systems.
Role and Responsibilities
Carrying out scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on electrical equipment.
Carrying out calibration of all electrical monitoring equipment.
Installing, testing and commissioning new or refurbished plant equipment and systems.
Carrying out regular safety inspections.
Interpreting technical drawings as per work requirements.
Carrying out diagnostics and troubleshooting of faults of the plant and auxiliaries.
Qualifications and Experience
Must be a holder of O-level certificate (KCSE).
Must have a Diploma in Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Must have a final certificate from the national examining body (KNEC) issued within the last 3 years.
Must be prepared to serve anywhere in any of the business areas in Kenya.
