The Electrical Technician, Engineering is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and safety management of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and continuous hospital operations.
Responsibilities
Regular Duties & Responsibilities
Provide technical support for electrical systems and equipment throughout the hospital as assigned including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Document all electrical activities and test results according to department policy.
Promptly respond to system/equipment Breakdown Maintenance (BDM) requests from user departments as per policy.
Timely complete Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for electrical systems and equipment.
Liaison with user departments for maintenance activities and report to the supervisor on arising issues.
Periodic Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate and/or participate in requests for special projects, such as new systems/equipment acquisition, purchase planning, and development of bid specifications.
Develop Preventive Maintenance schedules and guidelines with the electrical supervisor.
Develop systems/equipment safety and device-specific in-service education for other technicians and equipment users as necessary.
Perform incident investigations and system/equipment performance analyses as required.
Develop or review emergency and safety plans related to the use and operation of electrical systems and equipment.
Requirements
Diploma in Electrical Engineering (power option) or equivalent qualifications.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
Computer knowledge will be an added advantage.
Competence in technical operation and maintenance of HV/LV distribution, switchgear, aptitude in instrumentation and controls, Diesel generators, steam boilers, laundry, and kitchen equipment.
Excellent communication with interpersonal skills, high integrity, reliability, and very good analytical and organizational skills.
