St. Theresa’s Mission Hospital Kiirua is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) Teacher to join their team. The role involves fostering a nurturing environment for children's growth and implementing the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.
Role Purpose
The ECDE Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, safe, and caring environment that allows each child to grow and explore. They will plan and implement daily activities that align with the curriculum while ensuring the overall welfare and safety of the children in their care.
Key Responsibilities
Interact with each child in a warm and friendly manner and encourage their involvement in activities.
Create and maintain individual child files, including medical and developmental histories.
Provide a warm, safe, and caring environment that is kept orderly, clean, and appealing.
Plan, prepare, and implement daily indoor and outdoor activities as they relate to the curriculum.
Oversee the health, welfare, and safety of the children.
Provide overall supervision of toileting and bathroom time.
Oversee all mealtime/snack time activities and maintain related record-keeping.
Maintain daily attendance records.
Maintain effective communication with parents through daily sheets, notes, or verbal updates.
Ensure confidentiality of privileged information.
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or Certificate in Education.
Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
At least 2 years of teaching experience.
Must be CBE (Competency Based Education) compliant.
Computer literate.
Demonstrable skills in active listening and intentional, age-appropriate communication.
