The E-Learning and Pedagogy Coordinator will provide faculty with course design support in creating effective and engaging learning environments informed by desired learning outcomes. Reporting to the Director - Zetech Digital School, the position holder will play a key role in ensuring the university remains competitive in education delivery through the integration of emerging technologies and modern instructional design.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy & Innovation: Research and implement new strategies for competitive education delivery; research emerging technologies and provide application design support for students using e-learning tools for effective study.
Academic Research: Undertake research into aspects of technology-enhanced learning (TEL) and contribute to the writing of research papers resulting from these activities.
Trend Monitoring: Keep abreast of developments within the global e-learning field.
Course Management: Plan, implement, and manage the online course development process, including faculty training and quality course design reviews.
Instructional Support: Provide instructional design support to faculty through individual consultations and collaborative course design teams.
Content Conversion: Support faculty in the design, development, and conversion of course materials for delivery across face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online learning modalities.
Training & Facilitation: Develop and collaborate in the facilitation of capacity development workshops, particularly in course design, online teaching, and technology-enhanced instruction.
Needs Analysis: Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience training needs.
Multimedia Creation: Visualize instructional graphics and user interfaces; create supporting material/media such as audio, video, simulations, role-plays, and games.
Assessment Design: Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course.
Other Duties: Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
Masters Degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, Learning Sciences, or a related field.
At least three (3) years of work experience in an institution of higher learning, a curriculum development centre, an eLearning project, or any other related institution.
Knowledge of programming concepts and experience with Javascript or VBA.
Experience in audio/narration editing.
Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
Graphic design experience with the following Adobe products: InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop.
Understanding of course/program requirements, examination bodies' requirements, and procedures.
Understanding of Commission for University Education (CUE) operations.
