
Food For Education
Food For Education is a non-profit organization that provides subsidized school meals to thousands of children in public schools. The purpose of this role is to provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation of staff, equipment, and goods to various kitchens and operational sites, ensuring smooth daily activities.### Responsibilities#### Vehicle & Transport- Drive company vehicles to transport staff, clients, and equipment to designated locations.- Adhere to planned routes and schedules while accounting for traffic and weather conditions.- Maintain accurate vehicle logs for mileage, fuel consumption, and incidents.- Ensure possession of a valid driving license and company ID at all times.- Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations.#### Field Operations Support- Assist teams with loading and offloading materials and equipment.- Support basic operational tasks and run official errands (suppliers, government offices).- Act as a liaison between field teams and the office for document and goods collection.#### Vehicle Maintenance & Safety- Conduct daily checks of oil, water, tires, brakes, and lights; report defects immediately.- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and that servicing/insurance are up to date.- Adhere to traffic laws and company safety policies.- Secure vehicles and loaded goods at all times.### Requirements and Qualifications- Minimum KCSE grade of D+.- At least 3 years of driving experience, with 1 year specifically in field operations or logistics.- Valid Kenyan Driving License (Class BCE minimum).- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct (not older than 6 months).- Defensive driving certificate from AA Kenya, NTSA, or equivalent.- Fire Safety and First Aid certifications.- Proven experience driving manual 4x4 vehicles on rough terrain.- Basic computer skills, including the ability to operate email.- Strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks in the Uasin Gishu region.### Key Competencies- High integrity and responsibility for company assets.- Excellent time management and punctuality.- Effective communication skills with staff, donors, and authorities.- Ability to handle breakdowns or security issues calmly.- Flexibility to work weekends or travel overnight if required.### How to ApplyInterested and qualified candidates should apply through the Food For Education recruitment portal at https://food4education1.careers.hibob.com or via the application link: https://www.myjobmag.co.ke/apply-now/1219746.
