Driver - Central Region - Nyeri

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle & Transport

• Drive company vehicles to transport staff, clients, equipment, and goods to designated locations.
• Adhere to planned routes and schedules to ensure timely arrival, considering traffic and weather conditions.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logs including mileage, fuel consumption, trips, and incidents.
• Ensure valid driving license and company ID are held at all times.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations and client information.

Field Operations Support

• Assist field teams with loading and offloading materials, equipment, and samples.
• Support basic operational tasks such as setting up, deliveries, and pick-ups.
• Run official errands to suppliers, government offices, and courier services.
• Act as a liaison between the field team and office for delivering documents or goods.

Vehicle Maintenance & Safety

• Conduct daily vehicle checks (oil, water, tires, brakes, lights) and report defects immediately.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness, servicing, and that insurance/licensing are up to date.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies; avoid reckless driving.
• Secure vehicles and loaded goods when parked.

Requirements

• Valid Kenyan Driving License – Class BCE minimum.
• Certificate of Good Conduct (not older than 6 months).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving, with at least 1 year in field operations or logistics.
• KCSE Certificate D+ and above.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks, especially in the Nyeri/Central region.
• Basic mechanical knowledge (changing tires, checking fluids, identifying faults).
• Defensive driving certificate from AA Kenya, NTSA, or equivalent.
• Fire Safety & First Aid certification.
• Experience driving manual 4x4 vehicles on rough terrain.
• Basic computer literacy.
