Role Overview
CDL Human Resource is seeking a professional Driver to ensure the timely and safe conveyance of staff and materials. The role involves maintaining company vehicles in top condition, adhering to traffic regulations, and supporting logistical operations.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Logistics: Ensure timely conveyance of staff and materials to designated locations as instructed. Perform pick-ups and drop-offs for staff and business partners, including airport transfers.
Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the vehicle clean (inside and out) at all times. Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking oil, refueling, and checking battery levels.
Inspections: Inspect the vehicle for defects before and after trips and report any issues or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate travel logs including destinations, travel times, and work hours. Keep records of maintenance receipts and toll payments.
Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic rules and regulations. Identify mechanical or electrical faults and coordinate with the supervisor for repairs.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a KCSE certificate.
Experience: At least 5 years of driving experience, with specific experience in truck driving preferred. Must have recent, active driving experience (not out of work for more than one month).
Licensing: Valid Kenyan driver’s license with Categories C and D1 endorsements. Must be permitted to operate PSV vehicles and trucks up to 10 tons.
Technical Skills: Proven ability to drive 7-ton trucks, Nissan vans, and manual transmission pickups.
Certification: A valid Certificate of Good Conduct is required.
Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
