The Director of Sports is responsible to the Chief Officer for advice on policy issues concerning the development of sports within the county. The role involves high-level strategic planning, coordination, and management of sports-related activities and infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities
Formulate policies related to the development of sports in the county.
Oversee staff development within the sports department.
Coordinate all sports functions at the county level.
Manage and oversee the development of sports facilities.
Provide expert advice on policy issues to the Chief Officer.
Relate national sports goals, policies, and objectives to county-level management.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this position, a candidate must meet the following criteria:
Have served in a relevant and comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years.
Possess a Bachelor's degree in a sports-related field or any other related social field from a recognized institution.
Possess a Master's degree in a sports-related field or an equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Demonstrate administrative and professional competence.
Have a thorough understanding of national goals, policies, and objectives and the ability to apply them to sports management nationally.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) clearance.
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) tax compliance.

Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) certificate.
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) certificate.
