Role Overview\n\nThe Director of Finance functions as the property’s strategic financial business leader. The position champions, develops, and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and property employees. The position provides the financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives while maximizing the return on investment. Additionally, the role involves creating and executing a business plan aligned with the property and brand’s business strategy, focusing on the execution of financial activities and the delivery of desirable financial results.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\nStrategic Planning and Decision Making\n* Develop means to improve profit, including estimating costs and benefits, and exploring new business opportunities.\n* Analyze information, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.\n* Monitor actual sales against projected sales and analyze variances for efficient budget planning.\n* Identify the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down data into separate parts.\n* Provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities.\n* Implement systems of appropriate controls to manage business risks and safeguard assets.\n* Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company strategic direction.\n* Produce accurate forecasts enabling operations to react to business changes.\n\nLeading Finance Teams\n* Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence others toward sound financial decision-making.\n* Communicate strategic goals and owner priorities clearly to subordinates.\n* Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.\n* Conduct annual performance appraisals and provide leadership by assigning clear accountability.\n\nStakeholder Management\n* Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders including owners, corporate offices, and guests.\n* Advise the General Manager and executive committee on existing and evolving financial issues.\n* Manage property working capital and cash flow in accordance with brand standards and owner requirements.\n* Facilitate critique meetings to review financial information with the management team.\n\nFinancial Operations and Compliance\n* Ensure Profits and Losses (P&L) are documented accurately and costs are properly matched to revenue.\n* Monitor all applicable taxes, ensuring they are current and collected or accrued.\n* Ensure compliance with management contracts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and local reporting requirements.\n* Reconcile balance sheets to ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation.\n\nHuman Resources Management\n* Ensure team members are cross-trained and receive appropriate orientation and training.\n* Administer property policies fairly and consistently.\n* Create development plans based on individual team member strengths and career aspirations.\n* Participate in hiring activities and conduct performance reviews.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major.\n* Must have 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role specifically within Marriott International.\n* Luxury hospitality background is required.\n* A legal background will be considered an added advantage.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Marriott careers portal: Apply Here
