Role Overview
The Director, KSTVET Moiben Campus, is responsible to the Principal/Chief Executive Officer for the overall direction, organization, administration, and implementation of programs at the campus. This senior leadership role involves overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the campus fulfills its mandate within the larger framework of the Kenya School of TVET (formerly KTTC).
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership in executing the school’s mandate and the Council’s strategy at the campus level to achieve institutional objectives.
- Operational Management: Implement operational plans, administrative structures, processes, and systems as directed by the Principal/CEO.
- Policy & Governance: Implement relevant policies and procedures that enhance the school’s reputation and ensure alignment with its philosophy, vision, mission, and core values.
- Financial Stewardship: Participate in the preparation of annual budgets, ensure prudent management of funds and property, and implement effective internal controls.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective collaborations with government agencies, international organizations, the private sector, and other stakeholders to enhance the campus's corporate image.
- Human Resources: Advise the Principal/CEO on campus management structures and succession planning, while fostering a conducive culture that promotes ethical practices and high productivity.
- Quality Improvement: Ensure continuous improvement in the quality of services provided and undertake rigorous monitoring and evaluation of campus activities.
- Reporting: Provide regular and prompt communication to the Principal/CEO regarding technical, financial, and administrative matters.
- Compliance: Perform functions incidental to KSTVET’s mandate under Legal Notice No. 123 of 2022 and the State Corporations Act.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of fifteen (15) years of work experience, with at least three (3) years at the grade of Deputy Director or a comparable senior position.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (including but not limited to Engineering, IT, Hospitality, Agriculture, Business Administration, Project Management, or Social Sciences).
- Master’s Degree in any of the relevant fields listed above or in Curriculum Development.
- Certifications & Registration:
- Pedagogy qualification.
- Registered as a trainer by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
- Certificate in a Leadership Course lasting at least four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Professional Standing: Membership in a relevant professional body in good standing (where applicable).
- Skills: Proficiency in computer applications and demonstrated high-level managerial and administrative capability.
