The Director – Internal Audit provides strategic leadership in internal audit and risk assurance functions within the Public Service Commission. The role is responsible for overseeing the integrity of the Commission's financial and operational processes, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, and driving risk management strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Leading the development and implementation of internal audit strategies across the Commission.
Coordination: Coordinating all internal audit activities across various departments.
Control Evaluation: Evaluating the effectiveness of internal control systems and governance frameworks.
Process Review: Reviewing financial and operational processes to ensure compliance and identify efficiency gaps.
Risk Management: Identifying organizational risks and recommending corrective actions to senior management.
Reporting: Preparing and presenting comprehensive internal audit reports and findings to the Commission's leadership.
Monitoring: Monitoring the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure issues are addressed.
System Strengthening: Strengthening risk management and compliance systems to promote accountability.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field.
Professional Standing: Experience and seniority relevant to Grade PSC 3 within the Public Service.
Expertise: Extensive experience in internal audit, risk assurance, and strategic leadership.
