Job Description
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is looking for a Digital Marketing & Communications Specialist to join their team in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the reach and impact of UNEP's work through strategic digital marketing and communication initiatives.
Role Overview
The incumbent will perform critical functions to support UNEP’s communication objectives, applying data-driven approaches to improve performance, audience targeting, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves planning and executing paid digital marketing strategies, tracking performance, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment across digital and multimedia platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing Strategy: Plan, execute, and manage paid digital marketing strategies to support UNEP’s communication objectives.
Performance Analysis: Track and analyze the performance of digital marketing activities, preparing analytical reports and providing recommendations for future initiatives.
Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal UNEP teams and external service providers to ensure effective delivery of digital marketing and communication activities.
Program Communication: Coordinate the planning and implementation of communication activities for assigned programmes like 'Young Champions of the Earth.'
Creative Execution: Run creative workshops and administer newsletters using software such as MDirector.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: A Master's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master's degree.
Experience: At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in digital marketing and digital communications, including management of paid campaigns.
Technical Proficiency: Proven experience administering newsletters using MDirector or similar software and running creative workshops.
Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities for programmes with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred: Previous experience with the United Nations or an international organization is desirable.
