The Deputy Director, ICT role is a senior management position responsible for the strategic planning, operation, and coordination of all activities within the Information Communication Technology (ICT) division of the Bandari Maritime Academy. The objective is to ensure that the academy's technology infrastructure and services are robust, effective, and fully support the institution's educational and administrative goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing and coordinating activities within the ICT division.
- Planning, monitoring, and evaluating information communication technology program activities.
- Ensuring Information communication technology goals and objectives are met.
- Approving and enforcing information technology standards for application across the academy.
- Liaising with users and departments to ensure that information processing needs are met.
- Reviewing and evaluating feasibility studies and reports and overseeing implementation of approved initiatives.
- Ensuring that information technology projects are completed within the planned time and budget.
- Ensuring that organizational procedures and standards are adhered to at the academy.
- Liaising with the heads of departments in the use of information technology in developing and implementing change management initiatives.
- Providing comprehensive specifications for procurement of all information technology equipment and services.
- Planning and budgeting for the information communication technology division.
- Managing information communication technology capacity through effective performance management.
Required Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, candidates must possess the following:
- Cumulative fifteen (15) years’ work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Assistant Director Information Communication Technology or an equivalent senior management level.
- A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Information Technology, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, Business Information technology, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Relevant information communication technology certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Prince 2, or an equivalent qualification.
- Be a member of a relevant professional body, where applicable.
- Completion of a Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
