Tourism Fund (TF) is a State Corporation established under the Tourism Act, 2011 which came into operation on 1st September, 2012. The Deputy Director, Finance and Accounts is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the preparation of periodic financial reports, final financial statements, and managing the overall financial health of the Fund. This includes overseeing treasury management, budget compliance, and the development of departmental work plans and reports.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Ensure preparation of periodic financial reports and final financial statements; coordinate financial reporting and interpret statements to provide strategic recommendations.
Leadership: Provide leadership and manage talent within the Department; supervise maintenance of financial records and treasury management.
Strategic Oversight: Review financial systems, investment strategies, and evaluate cost rationalization opportunities to advise management.
Compliance & Audit: Liaise with auditors to ensure monitoring of the Fund’s finances; monitor compliance with financial requirements and ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
Budgeting: Oversee preparation of budget estimates and monitor compliance; develop and implement departmental work plans, budgets, and quality management systems.
Risk Management: Undertake departmental risk mitigation and safeguard financial assets.
Person Specifications
Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, with at least four (4) years at Principal Officer level or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance), Business Administration (Accounting), or equivalent.
Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent.
Membership with ICPAK or equivalent professional body in good standing.
Leadership course certificate lasting at least four (4) weeks.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Skills and Competencies
Strategic and innovative thinking with strong leadership skills.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and report writing skills.
Ability to work under pressure, independently, and in a team.
Ability to supervise multigenerational staff.
Excellent administrative and interpersonal relationship capabilities.

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Certificate.
