Role Overview
Kenyatta University is seeking a Lecturer for the Department of Sociology, Gender and Development Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality academic instruction and engaging in research within their area of specialization. The role involves contributing to the department's academic objectives across multiple campuses.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate lectures in Sociology, Gender, and Development Studies.
Conduct academic research and contribute to the body of knowledge in the relevant field.
Supervise and mentor students in their academic and research pursuits.
Participate in the development and review of the departmental curriculum.
Assist in administrative duties within the department as assigned.
Engage with industry and research institutions to enhance the department's profile.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Background: A Masters degree in relevant areas of specialization from a recognized University.
Added Advantage: A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization is a significant advantage.
Professional Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level, or equivalent experience in Research or Industry.
Alternative Experience: Candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
