Job Description

The university is currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy as a Lecturer. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality education to students and contributing to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences through research and innovation.
Role Overview
The Lecturer will be responsible for providing academic instruction to students, conducting significant research within the field of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy, and participating in the administrative and developmental activities of the department. The successful candidate will be expected to mentor students and contribute to the university's mission of academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy.
Develop and update course materials and curricula to reflect current industry trends and scientific advancements.
Conduct original research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
Provide academic advising and mentorship to students to support their professional growth.
Participate in departmental meetings, university committees, and other administrative duties.
Engage in community outreach and professional development activities within the pharmaceutical sector.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A Master’s degree in Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacy, or a relevant area of specialization from a recognized university.
Teaching Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level, or relevant experience in Research or Industry.
Alternative Qualification: Candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
Added Advantage: A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization is highly desirable and will be an added advantage.
