Role Overview
Kenyatta University is seeking a qualified individual to join the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health as a Lecturer. This role involves academic instruction, research, and contribution to the medical field within a university setting. The successful candidate will be expected to provide high-quality teaching to students and engage in scholarly activities that advance the department's objectives.
Responsibilities and Duties
Delivering lectures and clinical instruction to students in the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health.
Developing course materials and curricula relevant to pediatric studies.
Conducting research and contributing to the academic body of knowledge in child health.
Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research and clinical rotations.
Participating in departmental meetings, committee work, and other administrative tasks.
Mentoring students and providing academic guidance.
Qualifications and Requirements
Academic Background: A Master's degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized University.
Experience:
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level, or relevant experience in Research or Industry.
Candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
PhD: A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization is considered a significant added advantage.
