Kenyatta University is seeking a qualified academic professional to join the Department of Music and Dance as a Lecturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, conducting relevant research, and contributing to the university's academic and artistic growth. The role involves teaching students at the university level and may involve assignments at various campuses including Main, Kitui, Mombasa, City, Nakuru, or Parklands.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver high-quality curriculum and instruction in specialized areas of Music and Dance.
Engage in academic research and industry-relevant projects to contribute to the body of knowledge in the field.
Provide academic mentorship and support to students, including supervision of projects where applicable.
Contribute to the development of the department and participate in university-wide academic and administrative initiatives.
Teach at various university campuses as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
Academic Credentials: A Master’s degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized University is required.
Professional Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level, in Research, or within the Industry.
Alternative Experience: Individuals with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
Desired Qualification: A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization will be a significant added advantage.
