Department of Geography Lecturer

Kenyatta University, a leading multi-campus public university in Kenya, is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Lecturer in the Department of Geography. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering academic instruction, conducting research, and contributing to the administrative and academic development of the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures to students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Department of Geography.
• Conduct high-quality research and publish findings in recognized academic journals.
• Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Develop and review curriculum materials to ensure academic standards are met.
• Set, moderate, and mark examinations and continuous assessment tests.
• Participate in departmental and university-wide meetings and committees.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: A Master’s degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized university is mandatory.
• Experience:
  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level, in research, or within a relevant industry.
  • Candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
• Added Advantage: A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization is highly preferred.
