Role Overview
Kenyatta University is seeking a qualified and experienced Lecturer to join the Department of Family Medicine, Community Health and Epidemiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and providing academic leadership within the department. The role requires a commitment to excellence in medical education and the ability to contribute to the university's research output and community service initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions to students in Family Medicine, Community Health, and Epidemiology.
Conduct original research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects and academic development.
Contribute to the development and review of the department's curriculum and teaching materials.
Participate in administrative duties, committees, and other university activities as assigned.
Provide mentorship and academic advising to students.
Engage in community health projects and consultancy services where applicable.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Master’s degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized University.
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level, in Research, or within the Industry.
Alternatively, candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization will be considered an added advantage.
