Job Description

The University is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Lecturer within the Department of Environmental Science and Education. This role is pivotal in shaping the next generation of environmental professionals and educators through rigorous academic instruction and mentorship.
Responsibilities
While specific duties follow the standard academic track for lecturers at Kenyatta University, they typically include:
Delivering high-quality lectures and tutorials to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Environmental Science and Education.
Developing and updating course materials, curricula, and teaching aids.
Conducting impactful research in areas of specialization and publishing findings in recognized peer-reviewed journals.
Supervising and mentoring students in their research projects and academic pursuits.
Participating in departmental meetings, committee work, and university-wide academic initiatives.
Engaging in community outreach and professional development activities related to environmental science.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Must possess a Masters degree in relevant areas of specialization from a recognized University.
Teaching Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level, in Research, or within the Industry.
Alternative Experience: Candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
Preferred Qualification: A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization will be considered an added advantage.
