Dental Officer Role Overview

This is a Full-Time position offering Permanent and Pensionable terms of service within the County Government of Kitui. The role involves providing comprehensive dental care services to patients in Kitui County, ensuring high standards of oral health diagnosis, treatment, and patient management.

Salary Scale: Ksh. 50,610 x 2,350 – 52,960 x 2,550 – 55,510 x 2,850 – 58,360 x 2,750 – 61,110 x 2,920 – 64,030 x 3,080 – 67,110 p.m.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing dental care, including:

• Diagnosing common oral conditions, treating, prescribing, and referring.
• Carrying out minor oral and maxillofacial surgery.
• Facilitating admission, disease investigations of patients, report writing, and assisting in theatre activities.
• Collecting information on the dental health information system.
• Organizing discharge summaries and follow-up of patients.
• Acting as the first on-call on duty.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:

• Be a Citizen of Kenya.
• Bachelor of Dental Surgery (DS) degree or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
• Successfully completed one (1) year Internship from a recognized institution.
• Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
