West Kenya Sugar Limited is seeking a dedicated DCS Operator to join our technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the remote monitoring and control of our industrial processes, ensuring that all operations regarding fermentation and distillation are conducted safely and efficiently through our Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
Key Responsibilities
System Operation: Run and manage fermentation, distillation, and overall plant process control systems using DCS consoles.
Process Monitoring: Continuously observe and record critical parameters including temperature, pressure, yield, and flow rates to maintain optimal production levels.
Real-time Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve process issues or system alarms immediately to prevent downtime or safety hazards.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the laboratory staff for quality control and maintenance teams to ensure mechanical integrity and process accuracy.
Requirements and Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry or a Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
Work Experience: 0–5 years of experience in a process plant environment, preferably within a distillery, brewery, or chemical manufacturing plant.
Technical Skills: Strong analytical thinking and ability to interpret complex system data.
Operational Readiness: Must be comfortable working in a shift-based environment (day and night shifts).
