Job Description
The Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK) is seeking Data Collection Enumerators to conduct research fieldwork in Kirinyaga. This project is part of the PO Strengthening Project, requiring dedicated and precise individuals to facilitate accurate data collection within the study county.
Job Overview and Project Period
Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive enumerator training during the second week of June 2026, after which field data collection will immediately commence. Selected enumerators must be fully committed to the schedule for both training and the complete data collection duration.
Key Responsibilities
Attend all training sessions conducted by the project team.
Conduct interviews and field data collection using mobile devices (smartphones or tablets) in Kirinyaga.
Ensure accurate, honest, and complete recording of survey responses.
Translate study questions clearly into the dominant local language of the study area to ensure respondents understand and respond accurately.
Adhere strictly to research ethics, data safety protocols, and quality standards.
Submit completed data records promptly as directed by the project coordinators.
Job Requirements
Education: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Cooperative Business, Community Development, Disaster Risk Management, Sustainable Development, or related disciplines from The Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK).
Residency: Must be a resident of Kirinyaga County.
Tools: Must possess a functional smartphone or a tablet.
Language: Fluent in the dominant language spoken within Kirinyaga County.
Availability: Must be fully available for the entire duration of training and field data collection.
Experience: Prior experience working as an enumerator is highly advantageous.
