Job Description
The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya. We are seeking a Data Clerk to be based in Kisumu. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of research data through efficient entry, verification, and management within the institution's databases.
Key Responsibilities
Enter and update data in databases, spreadsheets, or software systems accurately and efficiently.
Verify the accuracy of data by reviewing documents, forms, or records.
Maintain and organize both physical and electronic files for easy retrieval.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
Identify and correct errors in data or records.
Assist other departments with data-related tasks, such as compiling lists, preparing documents, or supporting audits.
Follow institution policies and procedures for data management.
Requirements
Education: Diploma in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Data Management, Statistics, or a related field (Mandatory).
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in statistical packages such as Stata, R, SPSS, or SQL programming (Mandatory).
Software Familiarity: Experience with data entry systems, databases, and software such as Inform, REDCap, Rave, or other basic database tools (Mandatory).
Core Principles: Basic understanding of data quality assurance and data validation principles (Mandatory).
