Job Description
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the world's environmental agenda. In this role, the Data Analysis Assistant (Consultant) will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the 'weWork' system and developing analytical dashboards to monitor workflows, identify bottlenecks, and support the environmental dimension of sustainable development.
Responsibilities
Maintain the existing WeWork system and expand its scope to include additional workflows.
Implement system enhancements, including the development of dashboards to monitor workflow timelines and identify potential bottlenecks.
Ensure continuous system improvements and strengthen system security and backup mechanisms.
Familiarize with existing UNEP Corporate and Client dashboards and develop a detailed work plan for the overall assignment, identifying milestones with clear timelines.
Perform a detailed review of existing documentation and new recommended features/modifications on dashboards, providing substantive and technical updated documentation.
Develop and fully implement new features as per approved designs, including redesigning dashboards and implementing data cleaning and transformation procedures.
Update the CAP 2026 dashboard by incorporating IPMR, grant, and agreement reference data.
Update the Regional Projects Dashboard to include 2026 as the current year and reflect cumulative balances.
Develop documentation required for the creation of Umoja IPMR data Application Programming Interface (API).
Provide technical training on dashboard maintenance and create supporting materials.

Requirements and Skills
Education: A high school diploma is required. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent will have the experience requirement reduced to 5 years.
Certifications: Additional training and a technical or vocational certificate in Data Analysis, Information Technology, or related areas are required.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data analysis, information technology, or a related area is required (5 years with a relevant Bachelor's degree).
Technical Proficiency: Experience with data visualization tools such as Microsoft PowerBI is required.
Desirable Skills: Experience with data analytics tools such as Databricks and Python programming language is an advantage. Experience with ICT technical support and software design/development is also desirable.
