Cyber Security Officer

Maseno University is seeking a qualified Cyber Security Officer (Ref: MSU/ACA/DEC/03/26) to safeguard the institution's digital environment. This role focuses on protecting the eCampus digital infrastructure and online learning systems against cyber threats through the implementation of security protocols, regular audits, and incident response management.\n\n### Duties & Responsibilities\n- Protect the eCampus digital infrastructure and online learning systems against cyber threats.\n- Implement security protocols, firewalls, and data encryption mechanisms.\n- Conduct regular system audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.\n- Respond to and resolve security breaches in a timely manner.\n- Train staff and students on cyber security best practices.\n- Ensure compliance with University and national ICT security policies.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\n- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.\n- Professional certifications such as CEH, CISSP, or CISM are highly desirable.\n- At least Three (3) years of relevant experience in IT security.\n- Strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks, risk assessment, and incident response.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested applicants should visit the Maseno University website at www.maseno.ac.ke to view the detailed job requirements.
