Job Description
St. Francis Community Hospital is a Faith-Based Hospital located along Kasarani-Mwiki Road, Nairobi, run by the Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi under the Archdiocese of Nairobi. The hospital is seeking a qualified, self-driven, and motivated Critical Care Nurse to deliver specialized nursing care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Responsibilities
Assist physicians with specialized medical procedures such as bronchoscopy, endoscopy, endotracheal intubation, and elective cardioversion.
Ensure that mechanical ventilators, patient monitors, and other critical care medical equipment function properly.
Properly store and maintain medical equipment or devices after use.
Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on continuous assessment data and identified patient needs.
Draw Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) samples and correctly interpret diagnostic reports.
Utilize the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) proficiently for patient assessments and monitoring.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Higher Diploma in Critical Care Nursing from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and in possession of a valid current practice license.
Minimum of two (2) years' working experience in a busy Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Training in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an added advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly self-driven and self-motivated.
