Credit Officer (Microfinance)

This role as Credit Officer (Microfinance) requires the successful candidate to manage the microfinance loan portfolio, focusing heavily on customer acquisition (mobilization and cross-selling), rigorous loan appraisal, credit risk assessment, and ensuring compliance with all necessary documentation and internal credit policies.

Responsibilities

• Customer Mobilization and Marketing: Carry out Customer Mobilization. You shall undertake aggressive marketing and outreach activities and be responsible for cross-selling financial products offered by the company. In addition, acquaint customers with products, approval policies, and all terms and conditions of accessing loans from the company.
• Loan Application Processing: Assist clients in the completion of loan applications, preparing loan analysis, recommendations, presenting the recommendations to the Branch Credit Committee, and ensuring that all pre-disbursement conditions are fulfilled.
• Credit Appraisal: Appraise diligently and thoroughly loan applications received from individuals or companies.
• Due Diligence: Investigate and assess the applicant's background and in particular their character creditworthiness, and credit history as per records held by credit reference bureaus.
• Verification: Verify all particulars contained in the application form.
• Financial Evaluation: Check and evaluate the particulars and financial projections of the repayment source.
• Timeliness: Ensure that all applications are evaluated and submitted to the Credit Committee promptly and not later than two days from the date of application.
• Security Documentation: Ensure that security documentation is complete and duly perfected, properly executed, and realizable as guided by the company credit policy.
• Other Duties: Carry out any other duties and assignments as may be directed by your supervisor from time to time.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in finance or any related field.
• Auto logbook loans selling experience is a must.
• At least three years experience as credit officer in microfinance.
