The Affordable Housing Board is established under the Affordable Housing Act to facilitate the right to accessible and adequate housing as embedded in the Constitution of Kenya. The demand for housing is increasing with the country's growing economy and urbanization rates. The Board is seeking to recruit Credit Officers to manage the assessment and verification of credit applications for housing.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough reviews of credit applications to assess applicants' creditworthiness.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of all submitted documentation.
Utilize credit scoring models and other analytical tools to evaluate applicants' financial standing and risk profiles.
Implement informed decisions on credit approvals, rejections, or conditions based on evaluation results and credit policies.
Ensure all credit operations comply with internal policies and external regulations.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all credit applications, approvals, and related transactions.
Coordinate with other departments, such as legal and finance, to ensure all necessary documentation and approvals are in place.
Communicate with applicants to gather additional information, clarify discrepancies, and provide status updates on their applications.
Address and resolve any issues or complaints raised by applicants promptly and professionally.
Requirements & Qualifications
A cumulative service period of three (3) years’ relevant work experience at the grade of Officer II or in a comparable position.
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Banking, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Real Estate, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
