Amref Health Africa in Kenya is the country programme office of Amref Health Africa, Africa’s largest International Health NGO. This role involves leading the day-to-day rollout of the Future4Binti (F4B) programme activities in 3-4 assigned counties, ensuring high-quality delivery. The County Implementation Officer will coordinate planning, logistics, and collaborative community structures to implement activities aimed at ending FGM/C, child marriage, and gender-based violence (GBV).
Key Responsibilities
Field Level Implementation and Coordination
- Participate in developing comprehensive work plans and tasks.
- Lead the rollout of programme activities in assigned counties.
- Coordinate planning and logistics for events and activities.
- Work with sub-granted organizations, Networks of Champions, Youth Anti-FGM Networks, religious leaders, community leaders, and survivors.
- Collaborate with County and National Departments of Gender, Education, Health, and the Anti-FGM Board.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for donors and the organization.
Champions of Change Programme Support
- Strengthen capacity through training, mentorship, and technical advice for sub-granted organizations, community champions, and school patrons.
- Empower change agents to lead sustainable transformation for ending FGM/C and GBV.
Survivor-Centred Approach
- Support survivor champions in managing community safe spaces and healing circles.
- Facilitate inclusive community dialogues and storytelling sessions for social norm change.
- Ensure survivors are identified and linked to clinical health services.
- Integrate survivor-led approaches into government systems for long-term sustainability.
- Support survivor networks to implement trauma-informed economic models like climate-resilient livelihoods and VSLAs.
Technical Assistance for Sub-Grantees
- Provide hands-on guidance to ensure community dialogues and services align with technical standards.
- Conduct routine field visits to track progress and ensure adherence to programme approaches.
Administrative & Financial Management
- Manage activity advances and travel imprests according to the budget.
- Maintain healthy financial performance and burn rates.
- Ensure timely surrender of field activity advances and compliance with financial SOPs.
Communications, Visibility, and M&E
- Represent Future4Binti and Amref Health Africa at county-level events and in meetings with the press or government.
- Document and disseminate best practices and lessons learned.
- Work with the M&E Lead to support data collection, interpretation, and monthly report writing for AIMs.
- Participate in relevant county-level technical working groups and identify partnership opportunities.
Safeguarding and Do No Harm
- Adhere to safeguarding and do no harm policies at all times.
- Conduct training and sensitization for partners and volunteers on safeguarding.
- Report any safeguarding concerns and maintain confidentiality.
