
Makueni County Public Service Board
The Makueni County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit County Chief Officers. The County Chief Officer is the authorized officer for the department and is responsible to the County Executive Committee Member for the general administration and coordination of the department as provided under Section 46 of the County Governments Act, 2012.\n\n### Responsibilities\n- General administration and coordination of the respective County Department.\n- Formulation and implementation of effective programs to attain Kenya Vision 2030, Makueni Vision 2025, and sector goals.\n- Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans.\n- Implementation of policies and regulations.\n- Managing risk assessment and mitigation strategies within the department.\n- Providing strategic policy direction for effective service delivery.\n- Ensuring compliance with the National Values and Principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.\n- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\n- Be a Kenyan citizen.\n- Holder of at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya.\n- A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.\n- Minimum of five (5) years professional experience, with at least three (3) years in a senior managerial position in the Public Service or Private Sector.\n- Conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and devolution-related legislation.\n- Registered member of a relevant professional body and in good standing.\n- Proven track record in leadership, strategic thinking, and result-oriented management.\n- Understanding of devolution, County Development plans, and Vision 2030.\n- Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution (Leadership and Integrity).\n- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.\n- Proficiency in computer applications and digital management tools.
