The role of County Chief Officer for Procurement and Accounting Services is a senior leadership position within the Trans Nzoia County Government. The Chief Officer serves as the authorized officer and accounting officer for the specific department dedicated to Procurement and Accounting Services, reporting directly to the respective County Executive Committee Member.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties for this role include:
- Administration of the assigned county department.
- Formulation and implementation of programs aimed at attaining Vision 2030 and relevant sector goals.
- Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans.
- Implementation of policies and regulations.
- Providing strategic policy direction for effective service delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with the National Values and Principles of Good Governance and Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Education: Have a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya. Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
- Experience: Have vast knowledge and experience of not less than 10 years in the relevant field, 5 of which should be in a senior/managerial position in a large organization.
- Professional Standing: Must be registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable).

- Be a strategic thinker and results-oriented.
- Possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Have the capacity to work under pressure to meet strict timelines.

- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the National Values and Principles of Governance and Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
- Be computer literate.
