The role of the County Chief Officer, Gender (Social Development) at Trans Nzoia County Public Service Board is a senior executive position responsible for the administration and strategic direction of a specific County Department, reporting directly to the respective County Executive Committee Member. This role is pivotal in driving the county's social development agenda, especially concerning gender issues, ensuring effective service delivery, and aligning departmental activities with national and county strategic goals like Vision 2030.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Chief Officer will serve as the authorized officer and accounting officer for the designated county department. Specific duties include:
- Administration of a county department.
- Formulation and implementation of programs designed to achieve Vision 2030 and relevant sector goals.
- Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans.
- Implementation of existing policies and regulations.
- Providing strategic policy direction to ensure effective service delivery within the department.
- Ensuring complete compliance with the National Values and Principles of Good Governance and the Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Citizenship and Education:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
- Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered an added advantage.
Experience and Professionalism:
- Have vast knowledge and experience of not less than 10 years in the relevant field.
- A minimum of 5 years of this experience must have been attained in a senior/managerial position within a large organization.
- Must be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
- Be computer literate.
