This is a senior executive role for the County Chief Officer in Economic Planning. The successful candidate will serve as the authorized officer and accounting officer in the specific department and shall be directly responsible to the respective County Executive Committee Member.
Duties and Responsibilities
The specific duties for this Chief Officer position include:
- Administration and management of a county department.
- Formulation and implementation of programs designed to attain Vision 2030 and sector goals.
- Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans.
- Implementation of policies and regulations.
- Providing strategic policy direction for effective service delivery within the county.
- Ensuring strict compliance with the National Values and Principles of Good Governance and Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must satisfy the following minimum criteria:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya. Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered an added advantage.
- Must have vast knowledge and experience of not less than 10 years in the relevant field, with at least 5 years served in a senior or managerial position in a large organization.
- Must be registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable).
- Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of county development objectives and Kenya’s Vision 2030.
- Be a strategic thinker and results-oriented.
- Must have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Have capacity to work effectively under pressure to meet strict timelines.
- Have the ability to work successfully in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the National Values and Principles of Governance and Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
- Must be computer literate.
