This is a senior executive role within the county government. The County Chief Officer for Cooperative Development serves as the authorized officer and accounting officer for the specific department, reporting directly to the respective County Executive Committee Member.
Duties and Responsibilities
The specific duties of the Chief Officer include:
- Administration of the County Department for Cooperative Development.
- Formulation and implementation of programs designed to achieve Vision 2030 and relevant sector goals.
- Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans.
- Implementation of policies and regulations within the department.
- Providing strategic policy direction necessary for effective service delivery.
- Ensuring continuous compliance with the National Values and Principles of Good Governance and the Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Must be a Kenyan citizen.
- Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya. Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered an added advantage.
- Experience: Must have vast knowledge and experience of not less than 10 years in the relevant field, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior/managerial position within a large organization.
- Professional Registration: Must be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
- Strategic Understanding: Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of county development objectives and Vision 2030.
