The Kenya Women and Children's Wellness Centre (KWCWC) is committed to promoting equity and excellence in healthcare for Kenya's women and children, with a special focus on those from underprivileged and under-resourced communities. The Counselling Psychologist will be responsible for providing psychological services and supervising psychology interns and volunteers.
Role Purpose
The Counselling Psychologist will assist in supervising and mentoring psychology interns and volunteers, providing ethical guidance, case consultations, and structured feedback. This role also involves capacity building through workshops and trainings to strengthen staff professional practice and adherence to ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise psychology interns and volunteers, providing clinical guidance and structured performance feedback.
Capacity Building: Facilitate workshops and training sessions to improve intern and staff capacity and ensure professional adherence to ethical standards.
Coordination: Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and internal coordination meetings.
Program Development: Contribute to relevant program and grant proposal development discussions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in partner and stakeholder meetings, including donor forums, as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology is required. A Master’s degree in counselling or clinical psychology is a significant advantage.
Alternative Qualification: Candidates with a Diploma and over 5 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Counsellors and Psychologists Board (CPB) or any other recognized professional body.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing counselling or psychological services, preferably within GBV, trauma, shelter, or humanitarian settings.
Telehealth: Prior experience in telehealth (video, voice, text) is an added advantage.
Supervision: Experience in supervision, advisory roles, or systems evaluation is an added advantage.
