Job Description
Maseno University is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Cook at the Kisumu Hotel. This is a short-term role intended to support the hotel's catering and confectionery operations.
Role Overview
As a Cook at the Kisumu Hotel, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meals and ensuring high standards of culinary service. This role is offered on a fixed-term contract basis to meet the immediate needs of the university's hospitality wing.
Terms of Service
The terms of service for this position will be on a Fixed Term Contract, non-renewable for a maximum period of Six (6) months.
Responsibilities
While specific duties are not exhaustive in the advertisement, a Cook is generally expected to:
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and hotel standards.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Ensure safe handling and storage of food ingredients and equipment.
Collaborate with the catering team to ensure timely food service for guests.
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
Relevant academic and professional certificates in Food Production, Catering, or a related field.
Ability to commit to a 6-month fixed-term contract.
