Role Overview
PrideInn Hotels, Resorts & Camp, a prominent Kenyan hospitality brand established 12 years ago, is seeking a professional and dedicated Cook to join the team in Mombasa. The role involves preparing high-quality meals while adhering to strict safety and hygiene standards in a luxury hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present meals according to standard recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
Strictly follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols at all times.
Support the Chef de Partie and senior culinary staff in daily operations.
Monitor food storage, quality, and stock control to minimize waste and spoilage.
Use and maintain kitchen equipment properly, reporting any maintenance needs.
Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff to ensure 5-star standards.
Foster professional communication and teamwork within the kitchen.
Comply with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Attend meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Culinary Management, or Professional Cookery from a recognized institution.
2–3 years of experience in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or related field.
Strong knowledge of international and regional cuisines, fine dining standards, and menu planning.
Skilled in high-volume service and maintaining quality under pressure.
Proven ability to train and support junior kitchen staff.
