This role involves monitoring, controlling, and optimizing plant performance, coordinating necessary activities with the KPLC National Control Centre, and ensuring strict compliance with all health, safety, and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate wind turbines, balance of plant equipment, and 33/220kV substations safely and efficiently.
- Monitor, control, and record plant operating parameters in the control room to maintain optimal performance.
- Coordinate with the KPLC National Control Centre for power forecasts, scheduled maintenance, and restoration of generation after disruptions.
- Implement Permit to Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures effectively.
- Prepare daily wind farm performance reports and conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) with maintenance teams.
- Respond promptly to abnormal conditions and plant breakdowns to ensure safe and compliant operations.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic, Instrumentation & Control, or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Experience in power plant operations; control room experience preferred.
- Experience in plant/system start-up, operation, and shutdown using local controls and SCADA systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver’s license.
