Job Description
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Graphic Designer (Consultant) to support the design and development of standardized external publishing templates for the IOM Kenya Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM). The consultant will work under the coordination of the Data and Research Coordinator to ensure all products adhere to internal branding guidelines while remaining visually compelling.
Key Responsibilities
Template Development: Support the design and development of standardized external publishing templates for IOM Kenya DTM in coordination with HQ support functions, ensuring adherence to internal branding guidelines.
Product Review: Provide regular reviews of existing products to improve visual appeal and clarity.
Bespoke Product Design: Support the design of data and research products, including reports, online products, fact sheets, and dissemination materials like email blasts and social media content.
Data Visualization: Enhance the visual elements of maps and other statistical analysis products generated by DTM teams.
Reporting: Support the development of a regular DTM newsletter and activity reporting formats as required.
Info Product Management: Oversee the overall info product design and development process for the IOM Kenya DTM support team.
Performance Indicators
Timely completion of graphic elements, formatting, and layout of reports and information products (usually within a few days to a week).
Proactive communication regarding results, obstacles, and delivery.
Ability to work autonomously while following the IOM House Style Manual and DTM Reporting Handbook.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in Information Management, Graphic Design, Visual Design, Communications, Multimedia, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience; OR a University degree in the same fields with 4 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience: Professional experience in information management within humanitarian emergencies.
Technical Expertise: Experience in the design and development of information products specifically for humanitarian emergencies, transition, and recovery contexts.
Knowledge: Understanding of IOM programming in humanitarian emergencies and preparedness.
