About the Role
Outspan Hospital is seeking to recruit a qualified, experienced, and highly motivated Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) for its Nyeri Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventative and curative dental care services, examining and diagnosing common oral conditions, and educating patients on preventive oral care.
Duties and Responsibilities
Examine, diagnose and manage common oral and dental conditions.
Carry out dental procedures such as tooth extractions, scaling and polishing, dental fillings, and oral prophylaxis.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care.
Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
Ensure infection prevention and control measures are adhered to within the dental clinic.
Refer complicated dental procedures to dental surgeons and specialists.
Support and implement MOH oral health policies and standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution.
Registration with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Minimum of three (3) years’ post-internship experience.
Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dental hygiene, oral health, and infection prevention and control.
Proficiency in computer skills (especially Health Management Information Systems).
