Equity Afia is seeking a qualified Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) to join its network of medical entrepreneurs. Equity Afia is a group of qualified and experienced doctors committed to providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to the majority of Kenyans.
Job Overview
The Community Oral Health Officer will be responsible for providing essential dental care services, performing clinical procedures, and leading community-based oral health initiatives. The role involves direct patient care as well as health education and outreach programs designed to improve oral health outcomes in underserved populations.
Academic Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution.
Registration with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Minimum of two (2) years’ post-internship experience.
Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Experience in community outreach programs, school dental health programs, or mobile dental clinics is an added advantage.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dental hygiene, oral health, and infection prevention and control.
Proficiency in computer skills (especially Health Management Information Systems).
Strong knowledge of oral disease prevention, health education, and community mobilization.
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry advancements.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially with rural or underserved populations.
