The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking a Communications Specialist to join the SCS-SAP Project Coordination Unit. Under the overall supervision of Senior Management, the specialist will lead strategic communication efforts, manage digital platforms, and enhance the project's visibility as it enters its final two years. The role focuses on developing sustainable communication strategies, managing stakeholder relationships, and producing high-quality dissemination materials.
Functions and Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Create a brief communication strategy and stakeholder mapping exercise, integrating sustainability considerations for the project's remaining timeframe.
- Stakeholder Management: Develop, maintain, and update the SCS-SAP partners and stakeholders contact database.
- Digital Presence: Lead the redesign and regular updating of the project website into an interactive platform; coordinate content with partner websites.
- Media Relations: Advise on strategic approaches for raising awareness; promote and develop working relationships with media houses in participating states.
- Content Creation: Review, edit, and write press releases, PowerPoint slides, web stories, and project experience notes.
- Multimedia Production: Facilitate the production of booklets, leaflets, newsletters, videos, photography, and infographics.
- Social Media: Utilize platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, alongside online dashboards, to engage target audiences.
- Event Organization: Organize media events including interviews, panel discussions, and town hall meetings.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Contribute to the communicational elements of project M&E activities.

Education and Experience

- Option 2: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any of the above or related fields with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
