The Role
The Commercial Insights & Data Manager will bridge the gap between technical data pipelines and commercial teams. You will analyze marketplace behavior, interpret complex pharmaceutical datasets, and build intuitive dashboards to drive strategic decision-making and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Insights & Decision Support
Analyze marketplace behavior to uncover insights that improve supplier and buyer conversion.
Build dashboards that answer strategic questions rather than simply visualize data.
Produce clear recommendations and commercial narratives based on your analysis.
Support customer-facing teams with insight packs demonstrating platform usage and value.
Commercial Performance & Growth Enablement
Diagnose conversion bottlenecks across the commercial funnel.
Identify mismatches between supply and demand and propose commercial interventions.
Drive alignment between Commercial and Tech on which insights matter and why.
Help shape how Axmed uses data to prioritize activities and refine its marketplace strategy.
BI Ownership
Own and manage our BI workspace (Metabase preferred).
Ensure dashboards are accurate, intuitive, and easy for the Commercial team to self-serve.
Extract data using SQL and Python when needed.
Source and integrate new pharma-related data sources to strengthen our market understanding.
Corporate Enablement & Enterprise Intelligence
Enable enterprise-level decision-making by transforming commercial, marketplace, and ecosystem data into decision-ready insights for senior leadership.
Contribute to building Axmed’s enterprise intelligence layer by supporting shared BI assets and analytical narratives.
Translate data into prioritization signals that inform strategy and execution focus.
Support the CEO Office with performance readouts and strategic analyses.
Cross-Functional Communication
Serve as the bridge between Tech (data pipelines) and Commercial teams.
Convert technical datasets into simple, commercially meaningful insights.
Requirements
2–3 years of experience in pharma, global health, healthcare, or a related commercial insights role.
Qualification: BA/BSc/HND.
Strong understanding of pharma market dynamics, supplier/buyer behavior, or procurement processes.
Ability to interpret and communicate data through a commercial and strategic lens.
Proficiency with BI tools (Metabase preferred).
Technical skills: SQL for querying data and Python for data manipulation.
Experience cleaning, transforming, and structuring information-rich datasets.
Autonomous, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-moving Series A startup environment.
